"The
laity share in the priestly and prophetic office of Christ
and have a special role to play in the mission of the whole
people of God
in the church and in the world."
Vatican Council II

Associates of St. Marguerite d'Youville are men and women from all
walks of life who volunteer to share their time and talents to serve the poor
and needy in the spirit of St. Marguerite d'Youville, Foundress of the Grey
Nuns. They serve within their community and make a yearly commitment, renewable
annually. Some current ministries include serving in healthcare, social and
elderly services, childcare, parish ministry and liturgical music ministry.
Associates share a sense of spiritual kinship and community, which is nurtured
through meetings with other Associates both in local chapter and regional
meetings, and through fellowship. Often Associates incorporate works of charity
that are already a part of their life, and do not take on new ministries. What
changes is the awareness of how these works are part of a shared ministry with
others who wish to carry on the spirit of St. Marguerite d'Youville.
Active Chapters of Associates are located in Lexington and
Lawrence, Massachusetts; Nashua, New Hampshire; and Toledo, Ohio. To learn more
